Lisa has been part of MVP for two decades, as a Principal Consultant, Business Partner, and someone our clients and candidates know they can trust. She’s known for her honest, thoughtful approach and being genuinely invested in getting it right, especially when it comes to those hard-to-fill or confidential roles.

How long have you been in recruitment?
I’ve worked in recruitment consultancy roles for 20+ years. I started out supporting blue-chip clients and luxury brands, filling roles across the supply chain and logistics sectors.
Since joining MVP in 2006, I’ve gone from supporting a dedicated client base in the 3PL sector to specialising in niche and mid- to senior-level appointments for a wide range of clients across the UK.
My focus is on providing tailored, exclusive recruitment solutions that match the specific needs of our clients, ensuring they attract the right talent for their business. I also work closely with our Head of Learning and Development, supporting our Psychometric and L&D services.

How did you get into recruitment?
By accident! I registered with a specialist agency in the city of London after relocating from the Midlands. They called me in for a registration interview and, at the end of that, asked if I’d be interested in working for them. Two further meetings later, they offered me a position, and I accepted.
What do you love about working in recruitment?
Every day is different, plus you’re in charge of your own destiny, to a large extent.
There’s also the very real bonus of helping people find a new role and make a huge difference in their life. This is particularly satisfying when you place someone into a role they love and thrive in, despite it being one they wouldn’t have considered themselves.
I’ve been fortunate to have only worked for two businesses during my recruitment career. Both companies have had fantastic people, great ethics and a very supportive environment.
Especially at MVP, we learn from each other and support each other, and together we are more than the sum of our parts.
Would you recommend recruitment as a career choice?
Yes, definitely. It’s not a career that was highlighted or promoted when I was at school, and most of my colleagues and other people I know in recruitment got there by accident. I think more should be done to promote what is a rewarding and challenging career option.
There are more and more recruitment apprentice schemes being developed now, so hopefully, this will make the sector more appealing as a career choice for young people at the start of their working lives.
What are you known for in the recruitment industry?
Throughout my career, I’ve built a strong reputation for delivering results for both candidates and clients. My expertise lies in attracting, sourcing, and engaging top talent, particularly for hard-to-fill, niche, and confidential roles, and work with clients on an exclusive basis to ensure successful hires.
