Brake is a road safety charity working with communities and organisations across the UK to stop the tragedy of road deaths and injuries, make streets and communities safer for everyone, and support people bereaved and seriously injured on roads.
We are delighted to be working with Brake to help raise funds to support this worthy charity to continue their fantastic work aiding those touched by road safety issues.
Every day in the UK, five people die on roads and about 60 more are seriously injured. Brake work to help reduce road accidents and also work to end the danger, threat and pollution from traffic that blights communities and affects families across the UK. They promote road safety awareness, safe and sustainable road use, and effective road safety policies through campaigns, community education, information and advice for organisations operating fleets of vehicles and road safety professionals, and the UK’s flagship road safety event; Road Safety Week. They provide essential support to people across the UK devastated by road death and serious injury to help them in their darkest hours.
To kick start our support of this brilliant charity, we will be holding a ‘paranormal night’ event at our historic office building, Priory House in Droitwich on October 20th 2017. Priory House is the oldest building in the town, and is said to be haunted by the ghost of Captain Sir Richard Carbury who was stabbed to death by his fiancée Lucretia in the 17th century. It is said he visits the house every 50 years and should be due again April 14 2025.
Members of our staff have reported spooky sightings over the years, so attendees of the evening may be in for a fright!
All proceeds of the event will go to the charity and we look forward to continuing our support of Brake into 2018.
