Production Planning and Materials Manager
£50-55,000 plus benefits

An excellent opportunity to join an international manufacturing business to manage systems and processes within planning and materials to provide parts for customers while maintaining optimum stock levels.
Recruit, retain and motivate a planning team capable of consistently high performance and achievement of functional objectives.
Establish and maintain structures to ensure effective interface between the Division and its customers ensuring that positive relationships are fostered at the right levels within the customer’s organisations.
Develop systems, procedures and processes to ensure continual improvement in inventory control and reductions in stock levels. And which facilitate the delivery of production parts to customer locations in the right quantity, in line with agreed specifications and in a manner which is most commercially advantageous to the Division.
Instigate improvements in material handling and warehouse systems throughout the division to ensure safe and secure handling and storage of materials and products.
Direct and control the ordering and delivery of raw materials by outside suppliers, ensuring such deliveries are made in a timely manner, to agreed order quantities and quality specifications.
Ensure that customer requirements are assessed in a rigorous manner so that realistic production plans can be produced and the Divisions commercial position is protected at all times.
Define and develop logistics strategies for inbound materials and outbound products with our suppliers and customers.
Provide a logistics planning service to production, our suppliers and customers for all new product introductions.
The ideal candidate will have previous production planning management experience together with excellent understanding of material resource planning (MRP) systems.
