HR & Recruitment Strategy Manager

Based – West Midlands with UK travel

Package c£40 – 50k + bonus/company car

Are you looking for a strategically-focused role where you can use your knowledge and experience of the UK labour market to shape and direct a sustainable recruitment strategy?

MVP is working with an international supply chain services organization with an excellent reputation and a client base that includes many well-known retail brands. They are now keen to appoint an HR & Recruitment Strategy Manager for their UK business operations – this role will be based at their Head Office in the West Midlands, but will involve UK travel.

What you’ll do:

  • Research the UK labour market, building intelligence to determine regional pay rate analysis, market conditions and regional rate swings
  • Labour strategy planning to meet ongoing service demand
  • Accountable and responsible for labour fill requirements per region, via a team of regional recruiters
  • Understand and measure the complete recruitment cost cycle, engender a continuos improvement culture
  • Work cross-functionally, engaging with multiple stakeholders across the business
  • Attend customer sites and support with general HR issues – grievance, disciplinary and performance coaching training
  • Determine training and induction needs and go forward strategy
  • WTD legislation compliance – provide ongoing solutions to meet changes and developments in the UK labour market
  • Social media and recruitment advertising campaigns to meet the labour profile
  • Attrition and retention analysis with action planning to prevent and contain attrition rates

Qualifications, Experience & Skills – you will need the following:

  • Significant previous experience within a labour-intensive recruitment function (in-house or external)
  • Extensive experience of high-volume recruitment
  • Strategic management experience and commercial skills
  • An experienced people manager and leader
  • Has previously worked in organisations lacking infrastructure - able to create and provide direction
  • Experience of partnering senior leaders and other stakeholders to produce long term strategies around resource planning and recruitment. 
  • Technical knowledge of employment legislation.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills and high attention to detail
  • Ideally – CIPD qualified
