Warehouse Manager


Package – up to c£45,000 + benefits including private healthcare


MVP is working in partnership with an ambitious FMCG business with a track record of growth and plans for further expansion.  To help underpin this growth, the company is looking to appoint an exceptional Warehouse Manager, to join its senior leadership team and be responsible for the proactive management of all aspects of its warehouse operations.  The business is actively seeking an individual who has the ability to develop further and to progress.


What you’ll do:


  • Day to day management, through a small team, of warehouse operations and all associated processes
  • Promote and develop a culture of Health & Safety at all times
  • Lead, motivate and develop all warehouse personnel
  • Set and proactively manage the budget for all warehouse operations
  • Plan all resourcing for the operation, ensuring sufficient resource is available at all times
  • Responsible for inventory management across the operation, leading the annual stock count and replacing with a system of perpetual counts
  • Attend daily Senior Managers’ meeting – report on and represent the warehouse function
  • Establish a Continuous Improvement programme across the company’s warehousing operations
  • Positively champion change throughout the warehouse with a proactive approach to improving ways of working, process and communication
  • Meet with suppliers and customers as required, to develop contact points and build effective relationships


Qualifications, Experience & Skills – you will need the following:


  • Previous experience of successfully managing warehouse operations – ideally gained within a 3PL, FMCG or retail warehouse environment 
  • Excellent knowledge of warehouse processes and procedures
  • Great people development abilities.  You will have successfully managed a team previously and will be a caring leader, able to take people with you
  • Ideally – a recognized Health & Safety qualification eg IOSH
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, commercially-focused and comfortable presenting at Board level
  • Previous experience of setting and managing budgets
  • Strong IT skills and experience
  • Able to develop strong and effective relationships across the business
  • An “SME” mindset – prepared to roll your sleeves up!
