An excellent opportunity for an ambitious logistics professional to join a successful and growing specialist distribution business.  This challenging role will be responsible for proactively managing day to day returns operations at a dedicated customer site.  As an integral part of the senior management team at the site, you will project manage continuous improvement and change initiatives, develop the management team and stand in on a regular basis for the Site General Manager.

 

Main Accountabilities:

  • Ensure effective resource planning, setting clear objectives and ensuring service levels are met or exceeded
  • Financial management – ensure delivery of agreed budgets and forecasts.  Provide accurate input to site budget models
  • Support the General Manager in developing the team at the site and in succession planning
  • Health & Safety – drive and ensure a culture of best practice at the site
  • Responsible for the provision of best in class facilities management at the site
  • Client management – using a partnership approach, ensure that service provision meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations and all defined service level agreements
  • Play a key role in site projects, continuous improvement and change initiatives.  Ensure SLAs are bettered on every occasion.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Strong previous experience of leading and managing large-scale reverse logistics operations
  • Will have successfully managed change initiatives and can demonstrate a passion for continuous improvement
  • Results-focused, service driven ethos
  • Excellent people management and leadership abilities – will have managed large teams of people
  • Strong decision-making abilities and great communication skills – able to influence at senior level
  • Experience of mobilising significant change in people and processes
  • Client-facing – experience of relationship-building at senior level
  • Familiarity with project management processes and tools
  • Ideally – knowledge of lean practices and techniques
