MVP’s client is a privately-owned, very successful and fast-growing freight forwarding business specialising in express European road freight.  They have recently successfully expanded their service offering to include worldwide air, sea and rail services and are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their friendly team, to grow their client base for these new services. 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business known for its quality-led service and personal touch.  Your role will be:

  • Generating opportunities and winning new business, promoting and selling the company’s Air & Sea brand to a wide range of potential clients.
  • Generating business on Air and Sea, both Import and Export in line with the company’s targets
  • Ability to self-generate leads and opportunities
  • Cold calling to create appointments
  • Attending client visits
  • Complete sales reports, manage own pipeline reports
  • Creating rate proposals with profitability added to attract new clients

Skills/Experience Required:

  • A strong track record in developing business within the Air & Sea Freight market
  • Able to evidence achievement of previous sales targets and revenue generation
  • Excellent relationship building skills, identifying new business opportunities and ability to close successfully
  • Commercially aware, able to deliver profitable new business
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and manage time efficiently is essential
  • Significant industry knowledge within Air & Sea Freight
  • Strong skills in contract negotiations
