Head of Operations & Logistics – Wholesale (Luxury Womenswear)

MVP is working with a luxury womenswear business, whose designs are worn by a loyal customer base and stocked by luxury online retailers such as Matches Fashion and Net-a-Porter. To underpin the company’s continuing growth, they are looking to appoint a Head of Operations & Logistics to manage global operations for its wholesale business. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with Production, Sales and Finance, you’ll proactively manage all elements of inventory management, logistics and international shipping, delivering a first-class service to the global wholesale client base. Accountabilities will include: Overseeing in-season stock allocations across all markets Creating the production order split for each manufacturing site Co-ordinating the end-to-end logistics process – liaising with freight forwarders and manufacturing operations, overseeing all required documentation Manage seasonal credit approval process for all markets Proactively manage all inventory movements End of month reporting and reconciliation Prepare and deliver reporting – Agents Commission, weekly inventory reports Responsible for the Logistics & Wholesale Operations budget Overall accountability for the effective performance of the wholesale shipping and logistics operation Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, manage projects Manage, coach and develop one direct report Qualifications, Experience & Skills – you will need the following: Strong knowledge and experience of wholesale operations and logistics management, gained within the fashion / retail / ecomm sector Strong commercial awareness Experience of managing inventory across multiple warehouse Good knowledge of international shipping procedures, goods movements across borders Great communication and influencing skills Excellent data management and analytical skills Previous experience of people management, able to coach and mentor team members Strong IT skills/capabilities – will have previous experience of ERP systems, EDI portals, WMS Continuous improvement mindset Whilst you will be part of the senior management team, this will be a hands-on position with the opportunity to be involved in multiple projects and contribute to the ongoing growth of the business.
