An excellent opportunity with a market leading manufacture to take on responsibility for their manufacturing packaging buying.

• Commercial responsibility for a European portfolio of packaging materials.
• Gathering data/research (detailed spend, current suppliers, terms & contracts, etc.) necessary to develop strategies and to purchase effectively.
• Develop purchasing strategies for the items responsible for.
• Understand industry trends, new technologies, cost drivers and cost structures.
• Identify best approaches associated with items to source.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers to deliver maximum value.
• Benchmark internally and externally.
• Understand the general technical aspects of items purchased (to purchase most effectively).
• Negotiate with vendors to optimise commercial terms and maximise value.
• Help develop policies to support strategies.
• Lead implementation of savings projects.
• Track results and savings lists.
• Establish legal contracts with vendors.
• To produce an annual budget and, throughout the year, to produce reliable accurate forecasts.
• Negotiated cost savings and cost reduction projects (COP’s)
• Cash flow improvement
• Other fundamental Purchasing metrics
• Constructive relationships (internally & externally)
• Represent Purchasing in cross functional meetings

Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have buying experience in a manufacturing environment together with excellent negotiation skills.
