A truly global organisation with annual sales of almost $2billion our client supply sophisticated technology to a broad range of industries including aerospace, pharmaceutical, food manufacturing and power generation. The South West site has undergone considerable change and this process will continue throughout 2008.

As Buyer you will work within a team managing a spend of some £20M., primarily purchasing mechanical components (castings, forgings, turned parts etc) in support of production. All systems manufactured are "one offs" bespoke to client requirements and therefore management of suppliers to achieve On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery of components to the required quality is vital.

Experience Required
Assertive by nature and with a 'make it happen' approach, you will already have proven ability to deliver cost savings within a complex, technology led, lean manufacturing environment. Purchasing experience of castings, forgings, turned parts, valves etc is preferred whilst experience in Low Cost Country sourcing is highly desirable. Good project management skills are vital as is the ability to prioritise and meet demanding deadlines.
