Our client is a small and dynamic business, looking to expand significantly over the next 5 years. They have a head office and warehouse based within the Central London area.

Due to the rapidly expanding nature of the business, they are looking for someone who is highly motivated, highly driven, and who will not be afraid to be very hands on during peak trading. Standard working hours are 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, however, there is a strong possibility that additional hours will be required during November and December, and as such the ideal candidate must be flexible, and committed to the success of the business.

The Operations Manager will support the Operations Director in the creation of efficient, robust and scaleable systems, processes and controls that can support the business as it grows to target revenues over the next 5 years.
Key Responsibilities

Warehouse & Storage

• Ensure the warehouse and storage systems are appropriate for an increasing volume of high value products.
• Ensure that necessary security measures are both in place, and also complied with.
• Responsible for overseeing regular stock takes
• Responsible for managing the inbound process and stock receiving

Despatch & Logistics

• Management of the team responsible for all elements the warehousing and despatch process.
• Work with a number of 3rd party suppliers, ensuring their effective management to ensure efficiencies.
• Manage returns and exchanges.
• Oversee a small team of permanent direct reports, plus additional resource via temps during Christmas trading
• Ensure that all quality standards are adhered to rigorously, with thorough quality monitoring
• Responsibility for ensuring that all KPI’s are met, and that the business is able to continue to offer customers a Next Day, and in some cases Same Day, service
• Responsible for SLAs, people management and productivity
• Adherence to health and safety, and legal obligations

Experience Required
The successful candidate will have operations experience, ideally gained in an online or direct shopping environment. Knowledge and experience of Warehouse and Despatch management systems is required together with team leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and drive a team.

This role works very closely with the Customer Service team, and will be based alongside them.
