TLN sponsorship of Apex Racing

In 2010 The Logistics Network entered into the sport of amateur motorbike racing by agreeing to become the principle sponsor of the Apex Race Team. The team of 3 riders take part in the Hottrax Motorsport Racing Club and is entered into the endurance and sprint race 7 round championship. The season starts in April and finishes in October. The bikes are Yamaha R6’s adapted for racing and are very quick!

This inaugural year of sponsorship has been exciting and the relationship is still developing with new ideas and ways of maximising the return an evolving piece. Certain to happen is the formation of the Apex Race Club, an opportunity for any enthusiasts from around to get involved and contribute to the team. More details are available from Ian Holford or Nick Matthews the principle of the team.

For those bike enthusiasts out there the 7 races this year are; Snetterton, Cadwell, Silverstone, Oulton Park, Angelsey, Pembrey and back to Cadwell for the final race. There is the opportunity to attend races, get really close to the action, get involved in marshalling and even start and wave the chequered flag at the end of races. Ticket prices are very low – the most is £10 and in some circumstances we can probably get free ones. It is hoped that next year one of the races will be held at Donnington Park.

In June TLN took along employees and clients to the Silverstone meet and even though the good old British weather let us down we still had a great day of racing and a BBQ and drinks throughout the day. We hope to expand the formal attendance to 3 of next seasons races but don’t let that stop you getting involved, the guys welcome interest and attendance from any and all!
