Logistics Manager (Warehouse and Transport)

A great opportunity to join a small but rapidly growing manufacturer to manage and develop all warehouse and transport activities on site. The objective is to increase the level of service to customers, facilitate correct stock control and optimize internal and external logistics on site.
Lead, motivate and train warehouse and transport personnel to maximise their effectiveness in carrying out their tasks. From a policy of participation and involvement encourage all Logistics employees to identify areas of improvement in safety and performance to reduce operating costs.Ensure Logistics appraisal schedules are adhered to and subsequent development plans are implemented and followed through to completion. This includes new starters.Develop, control and maintain accurate records of all stocks and stock movements.Liaise closely with production, planning and supply chain personnel daily ensuring maximum efficiency in the warehouse and transport fleet.Monitor and provide reports for monthly storage and transport costs. Ensure that all your team are fully trained in all aspects of the quality standards.Ensure that all Safe Working Practices and policies are understood, followed and enforced at all times and to improve by suggestion.Project management as required to develop warehousing systems.
The ideal candidate will have warehouse, stock control and transport management experience together with excellent people management skills and possibly a CPC but this isn’t essential.
